We are looking for Seasonal Soft Fruit workers to join our team.
The majority of the work involves picking the fruit by hand, starting from 15 April 2025. This will be in tunnels which provide protection from the wind and rain. After the fruit is picked, the on-field supervisor will check the quality. The fruit is then transported to our pack house. You would need to have a good level of physical fitness since the picking process involves movements such as bending, lifting and twisting.
Other unskilled jobs you may be required to perform are:
• Planting crops
• Weeding and husbandry work
• Erecting and dismantling poly tunnels
• Irrigation Work
• Cleaning
Other skilled jobs which may also be available include:
• Tractor/Forklift Driver
• Field Team Leaders
• Quality Controllers
• Sprayers
• Minibus/Coach drivers
About us:
The farm has a stunning location in the hills overlooking the small town of Ledbury and the green rolling hills of Herefordshire. It is close to motorway links and to the towns of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester.
Our biggest crop, covering almost 183 acres, is strawberries which are packed at the Wye Fruit packhouse, based on the outskirts of Ledbury. Wye Fruit chills, packs, operates quality control, lids and labels products and operates 7 days a week for the major supermarkets across the UK. Increasingly the supply is passed to local depots and stored under the Local Brand label. The fruit is then sold by our marketing company, Berryworld.
Fruit is supplied from the end of April to early November.
At Withers Farm we also grow almost 50 acres of blueberries and 42 acres of apples and an expanding area of our latest crop, kiwiberries.
