JOB PURPOSE
To support a young man (20 years old) with autism, living in Southport.
He is a polite young man who appreciates a witty sense of humour!
He is seeking a Support Worker who is patient and will encourage independence and improve confidence.
This young man would like to eventually access employment or an apprenticeship.
Main Responsibilities
1. Structured rather than spontaneous activities.
2. Develop skills to enable independent living, e.g. financial management, home tasks, using public transport, etc.
3. Encouraging and supporting to access the local community for social outings, e.g. coffee, shopping, haircuts.
4. Assisting to rebuild confidence.
Experience and Skills Required
1. Driver essential
2. A trustworthy individual who is willing to take the time to build a strong relationship.
3. An interest in gaming and exploring the local community would be beneficial.
