Role Responsibilities:
1. Deliver self-checked design deliverables within agreed timescales.
2. Provide technical advice on design and engineering matters.
3. Create 3D mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor, including models, part drawings, and assembly drawings.
4. Develop 2D mechanical designs using AutoCAD, including layouts, part drawings, and assembly drawings.
5. Produce mechanical flow diagrams, ventilation flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and mechanical sequence diagrams.
6. Generate supporting design documents such as installation method statements, risk assessments, and scoping calculations.
7. Participate in formal design processes including optioneering, design reviews, HAZOP, and constructability reviews.
8. Amend and modify design deliverables as needed.
9. Engage in business development activities, identifying new projects and drafting technical responses for tenders and bids.
10. Mentor junior staff, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Skills & Experience:
1. Engineering Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and extensive 3D CAD experience.
3. Strong 2D CAD skills, particularly with AutoCAD.
4. Ability to produce design deliverables to BS8888 standards, including geometric tolerancing and welding specifications.
5. A minimum of 3 years of design delivery experience in a regulated industry, preferably within nuclear, defence, or oil and gas sectors.
