Role summary:
* Monday to Friday
* 6am to 2:30pm
* 2 x 20-minute break (40 minutes in total)
No two days are the same, but your role will normally involve quality checking our products to ensure they are labelled accurately, stored safely, and ready to be collected by our customers. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate the most efficient stock retrieval technique using our mechanical handling equipment (MHE) varying from: counterbalance FLTs (occasionally with boom/pole extension), picker lifts, reach trucks, and pallet trucks. There is also an element of manual handling up to 25kg in packs of flooring screeds/adhesives, and helping to load or unload our vans and lorries. But the fun doesn't stop there! You will also meet and greet customers and suppliers when they visit our goods-in/collection door, and from time to time, be the face of our business on our branded Trade Counter.
What we are looking for:
* Industry knowledge and experience (desirable).
* Knowledge of our competitors and our group companies (desirable).
* Basic knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety.
* Previous experience working in a warehousing environment (desirable).
* Familiarity with goods-in and goods-out, inventory and general logistics.
* Physically able to carry out manual handling duties as required.
* Comfortable working within a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
* Flexible attitude toward varying working hours.
* Customer service skills (desirable).
* First Aid Qualification (desirable).
* Valid Fork Lift, Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence.
Career development:
* Supervisory or management
* Van Driver (subject to holding a Driving licence)
* Class 2 HGV Driver (via Van Driver route)
* Class 2 HGV Driver (via Class 2 HGV route)
* Trade Counter Sales
* Internal Sales (via Trade Counter Sales route)
