Job overview
The Trust is recruiting a Head of Nursing Informatics (HNI/CNIO) to provide corporate strategic direction and Nursing, Midwifery, and AHP leadership on the configuration, implementation, and adoption of the Trust’s informatics solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality health and care services. This post will report to the Chief Digital and Information Officer and the Chief Nurse.
The successful candidate will enable, promote, and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge, and technology to improve health and healthcare delivery, ensuring the organization has the required cost-effective systems, information, and technology services to provide excellent clinical care to its patients.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide corporate strategic direction and Nursing leadership on the configuration, implementation, and adoption of the Trust’s informatics solutions.
2. Provide strategic level clinical advice and guidance, working collaboratively with key stakeholders.
3. Act as Senior Responsible Owner for allocated initiatives, ensuring effective digital solutions are delivered to enable a paper-free point of care.
4. Promote innovation and champion the development of a clinically appropriate information culture across the organization.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Managerial Relationships:
1. Work to agenda and activities defined by the Chief Nurse, Medical Director, Chief Digital & Information Officer, and Chief Operating Officer.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders of Health Informatics Systems across the organization.
3. Engage with groups, committees, and governance related to safety, quality, and improvement of Health Information Systems.
Person specification
Education
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and a degree level qualification (or equivalent).
* Masters level degree in informatics, business analysis, or equivalent.
* Recognised leadership/management qualification.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
* Significant experience in clinical practice in the acute setting at a senior level.
* Extensive experience in a clinical informatics role with involvement in a major informatics intervention.
Skills and knowledge
* Ability to provide a strategic overview of information systems to support high-quality care.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* High level influencing skills to engage clinicians with change.
