Art Teacher Split Site – will need to commute between Romford and Basildon for lessons Alternative Provision (13-16 year olds) £113 – £165.50 per day PAYE / £128.50 – £188 per day Umbrella 8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm finish on Friday Long Term – Possibility of Temp to Perm Our Partner School in Romford/Basildon is urgently seeking an Art Tutor / Art Teacher to work with small groups of children with challenging behaviour in their alternate education setting supported by behaviour mentors and keyworkers. Ideally to start next week. A great opportunity to join a charity and build on your teaching you will need to have experience of teaching or tutoring Art and hold a relevant qualification. Core responsibilities and duties: You will be working alongside the Teaching and Learning Manager and a group of GCSE, Functional Skills and Practical Skills Tutors. Students are referred to the inclusion programme and are often challenging (academically and/or behaviourally). You will take an active role in helping to equip students with the skills they will require as they transfer to the world of work. Key Areas • Delivering Art to small groups of students (normally a maximum of twelve) • Developing schemes of work and lesson plans • Complete the marking of work and assessment for learning within the Art department. • Developing relationships and offering support to challenging students in order for them to achieve • Liaising with Key Workers to monitor student progress, behaviour and attendance • Keeping up-to-date registers on attendance and progress and ensuring that information on student progress is tracked in the database • Produce individual learning plans and set appropriate targets • Attend meetings with parents and schools as required Person Specification • Experience in tutoring / teaching Art • Ideally hold one or be working towards one of the following qualifications DET, Cert Ed, QTS / QTLS • Ability to form productive relationships with young people who can be among the more challenging • Good team working skills • A flexible approach to both delivery and working methods / regimes • High level of ICT skills (MS Office including word, excel, access and PowerPoint) • Ability to plan and prepare training sessions • Ability to deliver projects to time and on target • Ability to work and prioritise in an organised manner • High motivation and the ability to take initiatives • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Due to immediate need you must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service and Right to Work in the UK.
