This is an excellent opportunity in Newcastle upon Tyne to support a full-service law firm in ensuring quality compliance practices and performing Compliance Audits to ensure requirements are met to a high standard. You will be working with the Head of Risk & Compliance and the COLP to help prepare for external audits, compliance assessments, and to renew/obtain compliance accreditations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Planning and conducting monthly quality audits on fee earners to ensure that practices, records, and controls comply with regulations and accreditation requirements.
2. Performing risk assessments and internal control evaluations to identify and report any discrepancies.
3. Creating and maintaining a quality log for all audits.
4. Identifying trends and establishing training requirements.
5. Liaising with stakeholders to calibrate audits, implement best practices and drive performance improvements.
6. Analysing historical data to build quality improvement initiatives and drive quality strategies across all departments.
7. Evaluating audit findings and ensuring the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
8. Ensuring random and focused audits are performed and completed in a timely basis.
9. Preparing comprehensive reports for senior stakeholders, including all relevant documentation and effectively communicating insightful findings to enhance firm-wide performance.
10. Assisting the Head of Risk and Compliance and COLP with preparation for external audits, accreditations and compliance assessments.
11. Monitoring the implementation of external audit recommendations and executing remedial actions.
12. Keeping up to date with the latest sector regulations and best practices in internal auditing.
Key Experience:
1. Previous experience performing an audit role within a law firm is essential for this role.
