The Role:
The Purpose of the Role: The Activity Planning Manager is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and optimizing daily operational activities to meet organizational goals and timelines. Reporting to the Head of Workforce Planning, this role collaborates closely with the Workforce Planning Manager, Hours Allocation Manager, and Salary Allocation Manager to ensure alignment between activity planning, resource allocation, and broader workforce strategies. The Activity Planning Manager focuses on operational efficiency, proactive risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of planned activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan Operational Activities: Develop detailed schedules and plans for daily/weekly/periodic and annual activities, ensuring alignment with the One Plan, budgets, timelines, and strategic objectives.
2. Resource Allocation: Assign resources effectively to meet activity demands while minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
3. Monitor Progress: Track performance against established milestones, providing updates and adjusting as necessary to stay on target.
4. Optimize Efficiency: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline activities, enhancing productivity and cost-effectiveness.
5. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the Workforce Planning Manager, Hours Allocation Manager, and Salary Allocation Manager to ensure integrated planning and execution. Partner with other cross-functional teams, including commercial planning, operations, HR, training, and retail SLT & field management to maintain alignment between activity planning and organizational goals.
6. Risk Management: Anticipate potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure activities remain on schedule and within budget.
7. Data Analysis and Reporting: Use activity and capacity data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and inform continuous improvement efforts.
Location:
This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to our London Hub or to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days presence in the office.
The Person:
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in activity planning, operations, or project management.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules and resource allocations in a dynamic environment.
* Retail Management or above experience.
* Project Management, or related field.
* Certification in project or activity management a plus (e.g. PMP, Prince 2).
* Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management a plus.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
* Proficiency in activity planning and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or similar).
