This is an exciting opportunity to use your business and financial analysis skills to work across varied projects of national importance while making a difference to millions of people’s lives.
The CMA’s mission is to make markets work well for consumers, businesses, and the UK economy. To achieve this mission the CMA investigates a range of areas and intervenes in markets by introducing remedies to tackle the consumer and competition problems we find.
The Strategic, Business and Financial Analysis (SBFA) team provides business and financial analysis on our investigations, and in the development and implementation of the remedies we impose to solve the problems we find.
Business and Financial Advisers work closely with economists and legal advisers in multi-disciplinary teams, providing commercial analysis and insight across the breadth of the CMA’s case work. This includes merger, market, consumer, regulatory and antitrust inquiries as well as providing advice to the subsidy advice unit and the digital markets unit. The work involves understanding businesses and gathering, analysing, interpreting and presenting good quality financial information. Advisers also help determine and define effective solutions to the problems we find.
In return, you will be joining an ambitious and purpose driven organisation at a time of significant change. We can also offer you a benefits package that includes a generous contributory pension scheme, 25 days of annual leave rising to 30 after 5 years’ service (plus 8 public holidays). With flexible working arrangements so that you can seamlessly blend your career and lifestyle, you will find much to enjoy at the Competition and Markets Authority.
Closing date for completed application: 11:55 pm on Friday 2nd May 2025.
