Responsibilities:
1. Management of Enquiries and ITTs from start to end, within deadlines
2. Review and assess all tender information received
3. Attend (if appropriate) any site visits / pre-tender meetings
4. Prepare tender programmes / submission documents
5. Liaise with operations teams to understand outputs / delivery methods
6. Compile detailed job costs from first principles
7. Build-up internal labour and management costs
8. Engage with specialist sub-contractors / suppliers
9. Ensure multiple materials / equipment / sub-contractor quotes received
10. Liaising with all departments to help compile submission
11. Manage Tender Queries / Clarifications
12. Compile final pricing in required format
13. Undertake detailed commercial review, with senior management, prior to submission
14. Compile & submit all bid documents
15. Organise (& attend, if appropriate) client post-tender meetings
Successful applicant will:
1. Possess a keen attention to detail
2. Be able to review and understand engineering specifications, work scopes and drawings
3. Have a high level of maths and IT skills
4. Possess excellent communication and presentation skills
5. Be able to interact closely with other members of bid team and other disciplines
6. Be flexible to cope with fluctuating workload and client deadlines
7. Possess a considerable knowledge of civil engineering and the construction industry, with particular regard to the EHV-related civils arena including groundworks, reinforced concrete, substation civils (new build and existing compound modifications), trenching, ducting, and cable installation within cross-country and carriageway environments
