Position Summary:
The Senior Compensation Analyst will lead the design, development, and administration of the firm’s compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, and incentive structures. This role will be a strategic partner and collaborate with leadership to evaluate and enhance compensation practices, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness, as well as analyze performance data to identify trends and recommend strategies for team optimization and performance management. The Senior Compensation Analyst will leverage strong analytical skills to conduct market analysis, oversee compliance, and drive data-informed decisions.
The firm has one available position in either Atlanta, GA; Dover, OH; or Portland, OR. Some positions at Novogradac may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. Please discuss available options with your recruiter.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and analysis of current and future compensation programs, including base salary and bonus structures.
2. Conduct in-depth analyses to support the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
3. Analyze performance data for designated groups to identify trends and provide recommendations to support team optimization and performance management when necessary.
4. Perform core compensation activities such as market analysis, salary range development, job descriptions, FLSA classifications, and responding to compensation-related inquiries.
5. Perform thorough job analyses, wage evaluations, and incentive structures and make recommendations to ensure internal equity and maintain external competitiveness.
6. Collaborate with all levels of leadership to assess and refine compensation strategies, providing data-driven insights and recommendations through report creation and analysis.
7. Oversee the audit, development, and implementation of any compensation policies and/or programs to ensure compliance with federal, state regulations, and internal guidelines.
8. Responsible for the full execution of the annual salary increase and bonus cycles, partnering with multiple departments to gather and analyze data for decision-making.
9. Utilize provided metrics for employee performance to determine scenarios that may impact compensation decisions.
10. Create comprehensive documentation for internal compensation processes and provide recommendations for process improvement.
11. Monitor market trends to evaluate the effectiveness and competitiveness of the firm’s compensation programs.
12. Participate in a variety of Human Resources projects and initiatives, as identified by the Director of Human Resources, when needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Ability to organize and analyze substantial amounts of data and make recommendations for solutions.
2. Proficient in analytics, including advanced Excel skills, HRIS systems, reporting, and data visualization.
3. Strong project management, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
4. Knowledge of federal and state laws related to compensation.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to analyze and interpret complex compensation programs and/or policies and translate them clearly to staff at all levels of the organization.
6. Complete work accurately with strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities.
8. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive work-related information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, human resources or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years of directly related compensation experience.
