Transport & Logistics Planner
£36,940 plus bonus
Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Working closely with existing transport subcontracts and bringing new subcontractors into the business, this pivotal role will enable the business to continue to grow from strength to strength. You will work closely with existing customers and subcontractors while onboarding new ones.
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate an excellent background in European subcontracting and possess the knowledge required for importing and exporting goods.
As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
1. Ensuring loads are correctly exported/imported (knowledge of required codes and paperwork)
2. Maintaining relationships with existing haulier partners/customers
3. Regularly reviewing performance
4. Bringing on new customers and hauliers/subcontractors
5. Resource/allocate loads daily to achieve the best possible margin
6. Ensuring deliveries are scheduled on time and in line with customer expectations
7. Monitoring delivery performance and notifying customers of any delays
8. Working to set targets in line with operational KPIs
9. Ensuring all information is accurate and up to date within TMS
Ideally, you will:
* Have a background working within transport (Essential)
* Have a strong relationship with existing subcontractors (Desirable)
* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
* Be happy to work in a fast-paced environment
* Have knowledge of export/import procedures
Additional Requirements:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to develop and build relationships with existing and new customers
* Good understanding of current market rates
* Good understanding of all required customs documents; must be focused and target-driven
