Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead and oversee our organisation’s IT infrastructure and services. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our systems, software, and devices are secure, functional, and optimally configured. This role is pivotal to supporting a smooth onboarding and offboarding experience, ensuring data security, managing Microsoft 365, and overseeing device and software administration.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills, and a keen understanding of security best practices.
Pay & Hours: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, full-time, 40 hours per week (flexible working options can be considered)
Location: Wenzel's The Bakers Head Office, Sunley House, Old's Approach, Watford, WD18 9TB

Key Responsibilities
1. Microsoft 365 Management
o Oversee Microsoft 365 administration, including user and license management.
o Manage password policies and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security.
o Facilitate smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees.
o Ensure regular audits of Microsoft 365 permissions, security configurations, and user access.
2. Security Management
o Implement and maintain email security measures, including phishing protection and spam filtering.
o Manage regular data backups and ensure disaster recovery protocols are in place.
o Conduct periodic security assessments and stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies.
3. Device Management
o Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of company devices.
o Manage the device lifecycle, including provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning.
o Ensure that all devices are compliant with security policies and receive regular updates.
4. Patching and Updates
o Ensure timely patching of operating systems, applications, and third-party software to mitigate vulnerabilities.
o Oversee automated patch management solutions and manual patching as required.
5. Meraki Administration
o Administer and maintain Meraki network devices, ensuring network stability and optimal performance.
o Monitor network traffic and troubleshoot any network issues as they arise.
o Configure and manage Meraki security settings to protect the network.
6. Software Administration
o Oversee the administration of critical software, including licensing, access management, and renewals.
o Provide technical support and troubleshooting for key applications.
o Ensure software compliance and manage vendor relationships for IT-related software and tools.
7. Other Responsibilities
o Manage IT helpdesk requests and provide technical support to staff as needed.
o Create and maintain IT documentation, including policies, procedures, and inventory records.
o Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
o Collaborate with other departments to assess IT needs and provide solutions that align with business goals.
o Train and support end-users on IT policies, security practices, and software usage.
Qualifications and Skills
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in IT management or a similar role.
* Technical Skills:
o Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, including user management, MFA, and security configurations.
o Knowledge of Meraki administration and network management.
o Proficiency in security management, including email security and backup solutions.
o Experience with device management tools and patching procedures.
* Soft Skills:
o Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
o Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
o Effective communication skills to support cross-departmental collaboration.
o Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
