As part of their growth strategy and focus on operational excellence, the company is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join their offices in Manchester. This role will be critical in analysing financial data, identifying deviations, and providing key insights to management to drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analysing financial data extracted from systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in P&L reports, working capital performance, and operational cost trends.
2. Identifying and investigating deviations from budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to management.
3. Monitoring and evaluating operational costs, allocation processes, and cost-saving opportunities to support efficiency and profitability improvements.
4. Tracking and reviewing CAPEX projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and maximising return on investment.
5. Enhancing financial reporting processes, improving accuracy, streamlining workflows, and driving efficiency across finance functions.
6. Collaborating with finance teams and business leaders to standardise reporting, align financial strategies, and ensure consistency in performance management.
7. Providing actionable financial insights to senior leadership, supporting decision-making, long-term planning, and business growth initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent, with experience in financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
2. Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and present insights clearly.
3. Experience in variance analysis, forecasting, and financial modelling, with a focus on driving operational efficiency and profitability.
4. Proficiency in ERP and financial systems, with the ability to extract, manipulate, and analyse large datasets.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple reporting cycles and deadlines effectively.
6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial audiences and influence decision-making.
