As a Senior Visual Designer in the Design System team, you will steer our work in defining and evolving our visual design language, ensuring a cohesive and scalable design system that elevates user experiences across all products. You will combine your specialization in pixel-perfect design with a strategic mindset, developing fresh perspectives in iconography, illustration, visual storytelling, and interface design. This role offers an opportunity to guide how design systems shape digital experiences while inspiring the organization to think creatively about visual design. In this role, you will advance our design system by creating high-level design visuals, creative assets, and components. You will also work closely with the UX and Studio teams to provide guidance and feedback for integrating them seamlessly into our products. What you'll be doing: Visual design excellence: Establish and maintain a high standard of pixel-perfect visual design, including graphic elements, iconography, and complementary visuals from scratch, and develop a cohesive visual illustration language for the design system. Advocate for best-in-class visual design practices and drive innovation in all design assets you create, bringing fresh and innovative ideas into every project. Ensure all visual elements meet accessibility standards and enable inclusive experiences for all users, and are scalable, flexible, and support diverse product needs. Design System knowledge: Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and evolution of our design system, including typography, color, icons, illustrations, visual assets, components, and motion guidelines. Maintain and update design documentation, library components, and guidelines. Stay updated with the design system market and the latest design developments, tools, and technologies to ensure design efficiency and quality. Collaboration and Mentorship: Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert in visual design, advocating for best practices within the organization, partnering with stakeholders, and inspiring and mentoring team members to raise the bar for design excellence. Partner with product teams and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the design system addresses evolving requirements. Promote a collaborative culture of feedback, learning, and experimentation within the design and engineering communities. Who you are: 5 years of professional experience in visual and product design, with at least 2 years in a senior design role. Let us know if you have experience working on digital SaaS products. Experience designing for diverse audiences, platforms, and devices. Knowledgeable about front-end possibilities and constraints, with an understanding of responsiveness, accessibility guidelines, and usability best practices. We would also like to hear if you have experience contributing to open-source or publicly accessible design systems. Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing pixel-perfect and visually stunning design work and user-centric solutions, including examples of: Visual languages, illustration systems, iconography sets, and UI-enhancing visuals you created from scratch for digital products or apps. Motion or interactive components that enhance user experiences. Your contributions to robust design systems or scalable frameworks you’ve developed. Skills: Highly developed visual storytelling skills, with detailed-oriented focus and a drive to create visually stunning and functional designs. Expert knowledge of design tools such as Figma (including design system features like managing multiple component libraries, and prototyping). Effective organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Effective communicator and collaborator, skilled at influencing and aligning cross-disciplinary teams. An active problem-solver with a history of improving design workflows and processes. We would also like to hear if you have a deep understanding of native mobile patterns.
