The Role:
As an Senior Category Manager, you'll put the customer at the heart of everything we do to ensure we maintain our market position, develop and drive the category proposition for the Plumbing and Heating categories within the commercial team to deliver business targets.
The role of the Senior Category Manager is to develop and deliver market leading product ranges to enable us to compete and maximise our market share by delivering the commercial business targets for the category in terms of margin and revenue through great supplier relationships, innovative proposition development and execution through branches and sales teams. This Senior Category Manager team is a great opportunity to join a PE backed business and help deliver further success.
Key Responsibilities
* Working alongside the Head of Category, define and deliver market leading category strategies, including the management of range, pricing, and promotional plans.
* Working closely with Finance to review and report weekly on trading performance and identify areas of opportunity or concern.
* Network and maintain healthy and regular contact with your supplier base and work closely with internal stakeholders.
* Ensure we have the optimum route to market for each channel by supplier/category.
* Work with the Pricing team to proactively manage our selling price in correlation with the strategy.
* Collaborate with Marketing to create promotional plans within the overall Trading Plan.
* Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers as required and ensure accurate reporting in Dealtrack.
* Lead and manage a team within the category, ensuring objectives are clear and achievable.
You should be based in the UK within easy reach of our Head Office in Crick, Northamptonshire.

Skills and Competencies
* Previous experience in a rounded category management/senior buyer role driving sales and trading profit.
* Highly numerate, with an ability to utilise research and insight to understand customers and the market.
* Demonstrable experience in category/account growth through critical analysis and opportunity development.
* Able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Able to demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, and a continuous improvement outlook.
