Robert May’s School has a vacancy for a hardworking, dedicated and reliable Site and Compliance Assistant, with a range of practical skills, to join our Estates team. This is a full time role which will require some flexibility in working hours.
We are seeking to appoint someone who will engage positively with members of the school community, demonstrate initiative and commitment and work in partnership with our school team to:
* Ensure the good upkeep and security of the school premises, buildings and grounds
* Undertake a range of minor repairs, maintenance and decorating
* Support the Estates Manager with the effective and efficient management of health and safety and compliance
* Provide a first class service to hirers of our artificial turf pitch and other school facilities
* Work in a flexible manner for the needs of students and the school
The successful candidate will be required to undertake regular training to help them to fulfil their role successfully and to comply with health and safety standards. It is anticipated that the Site and Compliance Assistant would also be willing to undertake training to drive the school’s minibus.
The role may also include working at heights and some lifting. Previous relevant experience is desirable (building trade or good DIY skills would be an advantage) but training will be provided. Some experience in compliance, risk management, or other Health and Safety experience would be preferred.
The successful applicant will also be a key contact for our hirers and other community members as community lettings of our artificial turf pitch and other facilities continue to be very popular.
In return, we can offer:
* Excellent support from an experienced, committed and welcoming team
* Fantastic students who are well behaved and want to learn
* A wellbeing day per academic year and an active Staff Wellbeing Committee with numerous enrichment activities on offer
* Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and 24-hour virtual GP service
* Access to education-specific discount schemes
Please visit the school’s website for more information, or contact Mrs Lisa Shackleton, HR Officer on the main school number.
We reserve the right to appoint to this post prior to the closing date.
Robert May’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
