Position Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction/utilities projects. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, procurement, and contractual matters to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints and to the highest standards of quality. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and contribute to the growth and success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting cost estimates and preparing detailed budgets for construction projects.
2. Analysing project specifications and contractual terms to identify potential risks and opportunities.
3. Managing the procurement process, including tendering, negotiating contracts, and selecting subcontractors and suppliers.
4. Monitoring project costs and expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
5. Evaluating variations and change orders, and negotiating with stakeholders to reach favorable outcomes.
6. Providing regular reports on project financial performance and recommending cost-saving measures where applicable.
7. Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize project delivery.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction/Utilities Management, or a related field.
2. Preferably knowledge of the utility sector.
3. 1-6 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction/utilities industry.
4. Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project management principles.
6. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
8. Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is preferred but not required.
