Vacancy – Manual Machinist
The Manual Machinist will machine components for small batch work as per the drawings provided.
Responsibilities:
* Making components using the manual mills, lathe, saw and radial drill.
* Self-inspect components to drawing and report any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed.
* Ensure that production requirements are met in line with the production schedule.
* Continually assess tool condition and maintain, as necessary.
* Provide input/feedback to decrease run times and down time to ensure continuous improvement.
* Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* A degree of flexibility is needed, and the employee may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above.
Requirements, skills, and personal attributes:
* Experience of working in a machining environment (engineering or metal work)
* Experience of manual machining
* Experience working with CNC machines.
* Experience of reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
* Experience with CNC calculating computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
* Good communication, verbal and written skills
* Organised, accurate and have an eye for detail.
* Ability to work in a team.
* Good interpersonal skills to deal with challenging situations.
* Good computer skills
* Be innovative and open to new ideas.
* Find solutions to problems in an efficient and effective manner.
* Be resilient and positively adapt to change.
* Self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance.
