Doncaster Heritage and Culture Services operate a group of major assets in Doncaster; Danum Gallery, Library and Museum, Cusworth Hall and Park, Mansion House and City of Doncaster Archives. We are working on the delivery of the Doncaster Culture Strategy as well as the emerging Heritage Masterplan.
We have bold plans to provide accessible heritage for all by bringing heritage to residents and developing innovative and engaging approaches to reach new audiences. The Culture Services Manager (Archives) has an important role in this priority and we are looking for an archives professional who is creative and innovative to join us in our journey.
The City Archives moved to new premises in 2023 and has evolved into a service driven by quality and serving the needs of its customers. The service is on the journey to Accreditation and is working closely with the National Archives.
As Culture Services Manager Archives, you will lead activity to develop and manage the City of Doncaster Archives. You will work alongside the leadership team for Heritage and Culture Services to deliver a service that is accessible, engaging, vibrant and inspiring.
If you have a passion for Archives and experience of developing engaging and innovative activity it would be great to add you to our team. The successful applicant will also enjoy working with the public and empowering people to make positive change. They will have excellent communication, organisational and customer services skills. We are looking for someone with the ability to deliver on archives accreditation as well as motive, inspire confidence and develop others.
This role will include some evening and weekend work, and travel across the city.
