Job summary
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director for Paediatric Dentistry within South Yorkshire. The successful applicant will be accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean via the Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean, they will play an important part in the direction of Paediatric Dentistry training programmes in South Yorkshire with Workforce, Training and Education/Yorkshire & Humber (NHSE WTE YH).Specific roles and responsibilities will be discussed at interview.
Supporting trainees' physical, emotional and mental well-being, essential involvement with recruitment, quality control and assessment of trainees, as well as delivering a training programme that delivers in accordance with the curriculum and the Dental Gold Guide 2023, is required.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of postgraduate dental training programmes at this level. They will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.
The post will be available on the basis of a secondment arrangement to WTE YH remunerated at their Pay Scale - per week.
All work undertaken is to be incorporated into the successful applicant's Job Plan.
Regional travel may be required for meetings and educational events.

1. Induction into the training programmes
2. Involvement in the ARCP process
3. Delivery of education
4. Involvement in recruitment
5. Managing and supporting trainees in difficulty
6. Appointment, training, support and management of their Educational Supervisor team
7. Attendance at DST Board and Strategy Planning meetings
8. Engage in annual appraisal of their role with the ADD

Essential
14. Holds a registration with the GDC
15. Primary dental healthcare qualification

16. Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development (example: educator courses, Train the trainer, etc)
Knowledge and Experience

17. Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
18. Currently working within the Community Dental Services within Yorkshire and the Humber
19. Knowledge of the NHS, its structures and processes, including an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters
