Job title: Commercial Manager

Position summary: As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Production Control and Procurement Team to provide the forecasting, workload and resourcing plans to support the efficient running of the plant. Reporting into the Assistant Senior Accounts Commercial Manager, you will drive performance excellence through continuous improvement focusing on systems automation and cross-functional alignment. You will schedule production in line with capacity constraints to maintain customer service levels, working with the production departments to attain their performance metrics through maximising efficiency and the procurement of raw materials.
In addition, the job holder will support Finance in relation to budget setting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
Main job functions: This list is not exhaustive or limited to the below:
1. Ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all Staff within the Department, ensuring all staff are correctly inducted, trained, and have the relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work.
2. Formulate and review the Business Plan monthly.
3. Formulate and review budgets against targets for both the planning team and support finance team with companywide setting and reporting.
4. Generate Management reports for the area, critiqued against departmental KPIs and financial reporting data such as month, quarter, or year-end data collation and analysis.
5. Work with production management to ensure the Production areas are correctly resourced; evaluate production forecasting, plan workload, and manage the supply and demand of materials.
6. Monitor and report performance against plan, continuously striving to improve weekly compliance to schedule.
7. Be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of data recording.
8. Maintain and measure suppliers and set improvement plans where required.
9. Identify and reduce stock obsolescence.
10. Support the Production Manager in achieving companywide manpower, financial, and production targets, and analyse performance to identify efficiency improvements.
11. Safeguard the performance of your unit; meet budgetary targets and ensure quality service for customers, along with responsibility for the overall safety of the people you manage.
12. Effectively manage Budgets.
13. Ensure effective two-way communication to Staff and Managers, ensuring consistency and effectiveness of all rules, procedures, and issues.
14. Directly manage the Department's KPIs ensuring they align with Company and Unit objectives.
15. Be responsible for all departmental policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively reviewed/updated and align with Company policies.
16. Manage and maintain the Departmental Quality Plan and all related procedures in accordance with ISO9001.
