ROLE: Manufacturing Supervisor LOCATION: MaestegSALARY: Up to £40,000We are seeking a dedicated Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our manufacturing department. The successful candidate will ensure that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting production targets. You will lead a team of production workers, collaborating with other departments to optimise productivity and resolve operational challenges.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership and Management:Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of production workers.Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.Provide training and development opportunities for team members.Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and addressing any performance issues.Manage absences and report any disciplinary concerns.Production Planning and Coordination:Plan and schedule production activities to meet targets and deadlines.Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure resources (materials, equipment, personnel) are available.Monitor production processes, adjusting schedules as needed to address changes in demand or operational challenges.Quality Control:Ensure products are manufactured according to quality standards and specifications.Implement and enforce quality control procedures.Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.Safety and Compliance:Promote a culture of safety and ensure all safety requirements are followed.Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices.Work with engineering and maintenance teams to address equipment issues and optimise production processes.Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate production records and prepare regular reports on production performance.Analyse production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Ensure all production documentation is up to date and properly filed.Personal Attributes:Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Commitment to safety and quality standards.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.Interested?
