About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work with our well-established SEN schools in Portsmouth. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioural challenges.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and possess a genuine passion for working with children.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support for students with SEN, ensuring they are fully engaged and included in class activities.
* Assist with personal care and physical support as needed, including helping with mobility and managing equipment.
* Support differentiated learning, helping students to access the curriculum and providing tailored interventions based on individual needs.
* Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
* Promote positive behavior and create a safe, inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and personal growth.
* Assist with social and emotional development, supporting students with their social skills and emotional regulation.
* Document student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting to the SENCo or relevant staff members as necessary.

Requirements:
* Experience ideally within a school or care setting. Experience with SEN is highly desirable.
* Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
* A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
* Knowledge of SEN is an advantage, but not a requirement as full training will be provided.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a clear understanding of safeguarding procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
