Active Care Group's Care in the Home division continues to go from strength to strength ensuring we provide a safe, reliable and outcome-based care to all clients by our exceptional support workers, clinicians, and management team.\n\nWe have exciting plans for our Care in the Home business in Exeter and we would like to hear from experienced, highly motivated, and proactive Support Workers. This is a zero contract with regular shifts once assigned to a client to enable continuity of care. \n\nTo start you off on what we hope will be a long career with you will attend our sector leading 2 week induction which will include staying away from home for 5 days, we will cover the cost of travel and accommodation.
During this time you will have both face to face training with our clinicians and complete online courses to ensure you fully understand your role and are confident with ongoing support afterwards.\n\nYou will then have regular supervisions and opportunities for further training and development to allow you to progress and grow with us as our business grows!\n\nOur Clients:\n\nOur client is an amazing person with Cerebral Palsy and is nil by mouth. They are non verbal but can still let you know when they are happy or find something funny! They will require suction support numerous per day.\n\nWe don't just look after the clinical needs of the people we support.
We look after the whole person, we pride ourselves on the fact our care extends beyond the individual to their wider family and friends, as we understand the wider impact complex conditions can have. \n\nWhat you will be working:\n\n12 hour shifts\n\nDays and Nights available \n\nWhat you will be doing:\n\nAssist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters as much as possible \n\nLiaise with and support the family as required\n\nAssist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained (including washing, dressing and toileting)\n\nSupporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events\n\nFollow the service user plan as documented for the client\n\nMaintain accurate and confidential records\n\nParticipate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client\n\nWhat you will have:\n\nA genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible\n\nPrevious experience of working with individuals with a spinal injury is desirable but not essential as full training will be given\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\n\nWillingness to learn and develop\n\nSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS\n\nWhat to look forward to:\n\nFrom £13.50 to £14.50 per hour\n\nFull specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from the Care Manager provided\n\nAccrued holiday pay\n\nRegular consistent work with rolling rotas \n\nFlexible zero hours contract\n\nJoin the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e learning and face to face training and development opportunities\n\nA Nest Personal Pension account\n\nWe recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme\n\nRefer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1,500 by recommending someone you know\n\nand, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group
