An exciting Team Manager opportunity has arisen to be a part of The Children In Care Service in Halton. This role will involve supervising and managing a team of Social Workers. The team is responsible for ensuring that all Children in Care and Care Leavers are supported to achieve positive outcomes and support them in planning to build their lives as young adults, ready to leave care, and live independently. The team is also responsible for finding permanent families for those children who cannot live within their birth family. Our team is responsible for care planning for children in care aged between 0-18 ensuring they are safe, happy, and achieving their aspirations and goals. You will work closely with our partner agencies to deliver high quality care and support to our children and young people. As a Team manager the role includes supervising staff, managing performance, chairing all relevant meetings, and ensuring permanency is being achieved for our children and young people. The candidate will have experience and knowledge of Children in Care and Leaving Care legislation, good practice and guidance, safeguarding and working with partner agencies out of borough, supervision experience and be passionate about what it is to be a corporate parent in supporting our care experienced young people. The Social Work Academy plays an integral role in supporting our staff across all service areas, with the aim of improving outcomes for our children. We’re a learning and developing Local Authority, with our Executive Director and Director for Children’s Social Care fully involved and supportive of our developing and improvement journey. There is a stable and very experienced Senior Leadership Team in Halton, with supportive and nurturing Service Managers working in our looked after service.
