About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, primarily through home-to-home care, with some work in support and other care environments. Flexibility is crucial, as the role requires adapting to the needs of our clients in different locations, including Peterborough, Stevenage, Gloucester, London, Hemel Hempstead, and Portsmouth.
Main Duties
* Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
* Provide support in clients’ homes, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
* Follow individual care plans to meet the specific needs of each patient.
* Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
* Assist with basic IT tasks related to patient documentation and care management systems.
* Participate in mandatory training sessions before starting work.
Qualifications
* Must possess a valid driving license and have access to a car (driving is compulsory).
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Previous experience in home care or working within a care home setting is advantageous.
* Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
* Proficient in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
* A compassionate approach with a strong desire to help others.
* Capability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.
