Assistant Site Manager
Salary - £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
We are representing a bespoke housing developer based in Norfolk, specialising in the construction of high-spec, eco-friendly A-rated homes. Their next projects range from eco-friendly bespoke bungalows, to townhouses. We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Site Manager to join the team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on sustainable housing projects and progress within a growing company that values development and innovation.
Our client is a well-established SME/developer, who has seen great growth and successfully completed a number of new build bespoke projects since their conception. They are looking for someone who is keen to grow with the company, with a focus on long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in overseeing and managing on-site construction activities from start to completion, ensuring high-quality execution. Supervise, coordinate, and motivate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour to maintain smooth operations and timely project completion. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining the highest safety and quality standards on site. Support in developing and managing detailed project schedules, tracking milestones, and adjusting plans to meet deadlines. Monitor project costs and budgets, implementing cost-saving measures as necessary. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration. Conduct regular site inspections, attend progress meetings, and address any issues or delays promptly. Prepare and submit project reports and documentation as needed. Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential construction as an assistant site manager or a site manager. Must have SSSTS or SMSTS certification. Ideally, hold a forklift (FLT) ticket, though this is not a dealbreaker. Proven ability to manage projects up to £2m, with comprehensive knowledge of construction methods and best practices. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. CSCS cardholder and First Aid at Work qualification. Full UK driving licence. Self-motivated and capable of working independently while also being comfortable reporting to and working under supervision. Ideal Candidate Location: Candidates should ideally be based between Mid Suffolk and Norfolk, in order to be able to commute to their current and future projects.
