Key Accountability
* Working with senior managers and HR Business Partners to understand key resource requirements to ensure the development of resourcing strategies that meet both current and future organisational needs.
* Devising and implementing recruitment plans, campaigns and activity within agreed deadlines ensuring that recruiting managers are properly consulted and informed.
* Acting as the recruitment subject matter expert on employee resourcing strategies to provide innovative, cost effective and timely solutions.
* Managing and developing recruitment processes, ensuring that all recruitment activity is in line with the recruitment policy and the Civil Service recruitment code: coaching and advising managers in the implementation of robust recruitment and selection processes.
* Keeping abreast of recruitment legislation and case law, ensuring that MDP’s recruitment activity meets statutory requirements and adheres to best practice.
* Evaluating and reporting progress against resourcing activity to demonstrate effectiveness and value.
* Appointing and working with 3rd party providers for the management of recruitment campaigns and the supply of interim and, where necessary, permanent appointments.
* Overseeing the use of internal and external job advertisement sites to ensure information provided is accurate and complies with site regulations/protocols.
* Guiding managers on the optimum use of resources, monitoring the use of temporary workers to ensure effective deployment and minimise costs.
* Working with the HR Business Partners and recruiting managers to implement induction programmes for new starters.
* Supporting senior stakeholders with their recruitment requirements; attending interviews as required and advising panels as appropriate.
* Ensuring MDP’s internal and external audit requirements in relation to recruitment processes are satisfied.

* Driving the delivery of business and corporate plans for your own areas of responsibility.
* Initiating continuous improvement in your own areas of responsibility.
* Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring any risks and issues identified are addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
* Managing individuals or teams through line management and/or matrix management arrangements as required, ensuring under performance is managed and adequate resourcing is planned to meet objectives.
* Managing delegated resources (e.g. budgets, equipment and contracts) as appropriate, to ensure value for money.
* Being fully aware of and actively complying with College of Policing (COP) policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection.
