THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team working on the 340,000 sq ft Storey portfolio as we continue to expand across our London Campuses. The Design Manager will focus on space planning and bringing the Storey brand to life on site, working closely with the rest of the Storey team to deliver an excellent product.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
1. Work with external design teams and consultants to create new Storey spaces. This includes: Providing test-fit floor plans for new sites offered to Storey and collaborate with the Storey and British Land team to identify if Storey works in the space. Be the voice of all Storey disciplines (leasing, operations, IT, product and customer team) to steer external design teams to deliver new Storey spaces with a strong design aesthetic whilst also delivering operational efficiency. Represent Storey during the development process of new sites. Attending site meetings, reviewing architectural drawings and designs and consult with other Storey disciplines. Ensure Storey design principles and product vision is met alongside British Land corporate targets on e.g. sustainability. Be the decision maker on design matters including finishes and FF&E.
2. Work with our existing spaces and with our customers: Creating and coordinating the installation of marketing units in our vacant spaces. Supporting our customers with workplace expertise and space planning to best personalise their space according to their brand and culture. Keep CAD files up to date, capturing customer fit outs and other changes.
3. Provide design expertise and files for the Storey team, e.g. marketing material, feedback on operational equipment for our shared spaces.
4. Proactively look for opportunities to improve Storey fit-out standards and design approach.
ABOUT YOU
1. Significant experience in a similar field.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture.
3. Proven experience in architectural and interior design sector with focus on workspaces.
4. Ability to take ownership and proven ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at a time.
5. Well organised with a logical, structured approach and a keen eye for detail.
6. Excellent communication skills and understanding and focus on customer satisfaction.
7. Experience in RIBA stages 1-6 would be beneficial.
8. Ability to role model the business values and to promote an inclusive, positive and collaborative culture.
