Ringway Jacobs is seeking a motivated and talented Assistant Engineer to join our Development Management team. This exciting opportunity involves working on the Essex Highways Integrated Services contract in partnership with Essex County Council. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of developer-designed schemes through expert Technical Assurance. Your expertise will help drive high-quality outcomes, aligning with the vision and priorities of Essex Highways and the County Council while contributing to a first-class service in planned works delivery.
The Role
1. Assist the Highway Authority with consultations with the Local Planning Authority for proposed developments.
2. Agree detailed designs and ensure planning permission conditions/obligations are met.
3. Attend/ Chair Meetings.
4. Answer site queries / design queries in a timely manner.
5. Extensive stakeholder liaison (both internal and external).
Minimum Requirements
1. Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification, or experience in highways – essential.
2. Some knowledge of and/or experience in, managing the design and implementation of the highway aspects for proposed housing developments including statutory processes involved with these activities – essential.
3. Being able to demonstrate good project management experience – essential.
4. Some knowledge of national guidance, legislation and regulations relating to design and implementation of highway schemes. In particular an appreciation of the Highway Act 1980 and CDM 2015 is required – essential.
5. An awareness of Health and Safety legislation – essential.
