The Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering Department incorporating Medical Electronics and Medical Engineering sits within the Estates Directorate. We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to work as a Medical Equipment Librarian
Medical Engineering is primarily concerned with providing maintenance to a wide range of highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment both within the Trust and in other Trusts by arrangement. Such equipment embraces electrical, electronic, and mechanical and software based technologies requiring both broad and specialist knowledge.
The post holder will provide administrative duties generally to department and end user staff
This role is of vital importance and will require the individual to be proactive and highly organised individual who continually strives for service improvements.
You will provide outstanding customer service to our service users, taking a ‘can do’ approach to your duties. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Equipment Library provides a range of services to the Trust. These services include the safe storage and care of mechanical and electro medical equipment and associated devices. The medical equipment Library is responsible for providing Loan service for medical devices

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·Distributing and collecting equipment loaned from the Equipment Library
·Recording details of equipment loans using a dedicated database
·Providing a reception service for clients bring equipment for repair or seeking information about equipment
·Recording details of equipment repairs on a dedicated database
·Providing information about the progress of repairs to clients
·Providing consumables and disposables for medical equipment.
·Providing administrative support to the EME (Electro Medical Engineering).
·Assisting with the operation of the Equipment library
·Safety testing of library medical equipment
·Performance verification of library medical equipment
·Updating the CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) database
