An Ofsted Outstanding specialist school local to you is looking for a positive and dedicated specialist trainee teacher to work with students with a Autism diagnosis. This setting supports 80+ pupils between the ages of 4-19 years and is an educational provision that offers a Early years, primary and secondary provision. This school focuses on ensuring students who have difficulty accessing Education, have a social and exciting school experience. This school is commended by Ofsted, parents and the local community for being a friendly, safe and enabling learning environment. This is an incredibly modern site with welcoming, bright and spacious classrooms, break out rooms and transitional areas.
As a trainee teacher you will support the children with their learning and general well being to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Your start as a specialist teaching assistant (1:1) and with time (2 years programme) and training you will develop the skills to become a specialist teacher. You will join an engaging and helpful team and teach 1:1 mixed ability children in a small class of 6-8 pupils. This is a full time, permanent position based on approx 37.5 hours a week.

Your responsibilities will include:
7. Teach 1:1 according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning
8. Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the lead teacher
9. Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
10. Monitoring and evaluate students learning
Key skills and experience needed:
11. The ability to teach and support learners that have various complex needs
12. A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
13. The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
14. Teaching Assistant experience
15. Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
16. Eligibility to work in the UK
