Platform Design Lead Location: London or Edinburgh Hybrid: 2 days a week in office Salary: £107K - £130K Role Overview The Platform Design Lead will collaborate across disciplines to enhance the scalability, usability, and consistency of ClearScore’s products, platform, tools and documentation. This hands-on role combines team leadership, system design, and strategic alignment to shape user experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and innovative. Reporting to senior design and product leadership, you will influence the future of design at ClearScore while mentoring designers and enabling cross-functional success. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of our Platform mission, mainly contributing to a design system that supports features across web, native, and the CS platform. Other responsibilities include content model curation for our headless CMS, and internal tool design. Based in either London or Edinburgh, the position offers flexibility and collaboration in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. What You'll Do Lead and Develop the Design System Own the evolution and maintenance of ClearScore’s design system to ensure scalable, reusable, and accessible design components. Guide the creation of robust design libraries, empowering the design team to deliver consistent experiences across all platforms. Work collaboratively with full-stack teams to build a scalable solution to our multi-platform and multi-brand design system. Enhance Internal Tools and Processes Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to develop and optimise internal tools that accelerate product delivery. Advocate for user-centered design principles in the creation of internal platforms. Strategise with senior leadership on the next iteration of internal tools and technologies. Collaborate Across Teams Work with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align design system efforts with ClearScore’s strategic objectives. Participate in critiques and iterative feedback sessions to elevate design quality. Be the go-to person for implementing the design system across the products, leading and mentoring designers and engineers on their contributions. Mentor and Inspire Designers Provide guidance and mentorship to designers within the team, fostering a culture of innovation, growth, and collaboration. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure a cohesive approach to design challenges across teams. Drive Strategic Alignment Contribute to the overall platform vision by balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility. Ensure the design system supports scalability for ClearScore’s global markets, features and products. About You We’re looking for a skilled and experienced professional with the following: Design Expertise Proven experience in designing scalable, responsive, and intuitive interfaces across web and native platforms. A strong portfolio showcasing work building and leading a design system, preferably one that spans both native and web platforms. Strong Figma skills and experience, showcasing a wide range of skills across the tool, including component creation, responsive design and prototyping. An ability to transform any existing or your own designs into a set of reusable design components. Leading within a strong Platform team is a bonus. Technical Skills Some understanding of front-end technologies is a must (github, basic JSON) Experience creating responsive and reusable design components with accessibility and scalability in mind. An understanding of how to build and curate complex design token libraries is a bonus. Leadership and Collaboration Demonstrated ability to lead design projects and mentor team members. Strong communication skills for presenting concepts and aligning stakeholders across disciplines. Strategic Thinking Ability to balance immediate design needs with long-term strategic goals. Awareness of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in design and product development.
