Role Description: Venterra Engineering seeks to fill the position of Business Development Director (UK/Europe/US). This role offers a highly competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package. The incumbent will be accountable to the Advisory & Design Service Line Managing Director. The key aims of the role are : Develop the sales pipeline in Global Offshore Renewables, with a main focus on the UK, Europe and to develop the USA Manage allocated key accounts and develop business at senior levels at Project, Country and International level Develop consultancy and design opportunities in fixed, floating and OSS Support the wider sales in the energy transition field with key accounts Work with wider Venterra commercial team to coordinate activities Provide front line business development engagement Assist with development of proposals and conversion of contracts Provide support and commercial leadership to the seniors within the engineering delivery team to support sales management and closure. Key responsibilities: Client Management Developing and managing key accounts Managing relationships with clients at senior levels Provide engagement strategies that are aligned with client strategies Strategy & Marketing Understanding the current state and future trends/opportunities in the market Assessing global markets and provide strategy for development Identify, support and contribute to unique selling points Develop taking thought leadership marketing strategy with the marketing team Organisation and Resources Lead events and client outreach activities with the marketing team Lead, organise and mentor delivery seniors in commercial activities Oversee client data management in the CRM system, sales processes and team meetings Manage the commercial sales support team Finance and Commercial Provide input to commercial offerings and models Provide input on competitive environment Sales completion in line with agreed targets (personal sales & team revenues) Business Development Responsible for developing sales opportunities and relationships for Owners Engineering, Design (concept to Detailed Design) and Project Management Consultancy in fixed, floating and OSS Support sales opportunities in wider energy transition activities with mutual accounts Generate BD activity and positively represent the business with the complete range of potential customers including Developers, Government, TSO’s, Financiers and Engineering contractors and sub contractors Provide weekly reports to the Service Line MD Provide inputs to the CRM system And regular reporting Create new opportunity leads and positioning for sales closure Provide regular and relevant information on the competitive environment and competitors Identify short and long term local and international pursuits and prepare pursuit plans Assist when required in the production of proposals and tenders Lead commercial win strategy for tenders Gain sufficient knowledge on the Service Lines to identify general company opportunities Be involved in the ongoing relationships with clients giving insight into project performance and assisting with managing clients Key Skills/Experience/Competencies: At least 5 years’ experience in Renewables Ability to travel nationally and internationally on a regular basis Demonstratable ability to generate a multi-million-pound pipeline of work Senior level capability and ability to support clients at senior and international level Commercial and contractual awareness Strong work ethic Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good report writing skills essential Team player, self-starter and problem solver Strong IT literacy Full and valid driving licence Education / Qualifications: Degree and at least five years’ experience in Offshore Renewables Related experience in the renewable energy industry is desirable A minimum of 10 years of experience related to BD, Marketing, Sales and Tendering.
