Job Introduction The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and overall execution of the Brush Switchgear Product Platform. You will act as general manager for the product line, with responsibility for developing and executing the product roadmap, technology innovation (new product development, margin enhancement, break-though innovation), revenue and profitability. Role Responsibility Development and implementation of a longer term (three years ) strategic playbook by articulating on roadmaps for products, services & solutions. Development and implementation of lifecycle strategy for the technology / product line / platform. Identification of program risks & opportunities, evaluation of the impact to the organisation and the scoping and implementation of corrective/mitigating strategies to overcome the challenges. Customer engagement, collection of VOC, OVOC, and translation of the impact and opportunities to the switchgear portfolio, including segmentation Development and updating of market, regulatory and competitive positioning (competitive landscape) within relevant segments and persona development. Leveraging insights to inform on product opportunities, portfolio gaps, acquisitions, partnerships, product positioning and product marketing. Development and updating of technical and commercial value proposition, including reviewing on cost of ownership, service quality and customer value perception. Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance on product design, relevant technical, safety and environmental standards, codes of practice etc. As technology / product line / platform owner, work closely with project sponsor & cross-functional teams, to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, plan, budget, and timing for strategic initiatives aligned with over business goals (EG : Revenue, operating margin and free-cash flow). Work collaboratively across the organisation/functions to ensure early adoption and alignment of key principles which govern innovation development programs, including validation of assumptions, must-haves and customer value positioning. Working closely with the Programme Management Office (PMO), develop project assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement and maintain organisational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance. Ensuring that Intellectual Property (IP) opportunities are defined and reviewed by scanning existing portfolio and critically reviewing IP aspects at the onset of new development programs. Accountable for the adequate data protection activities and awareness levels within their area responsibility, in line with the data protection policy. The Ideal Candidate Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical discipline) or equivalent MBA or equivalent Six Sigma methodology (Minimum Green Belt, preferred Yellow Belt) Excellent written and oral skills Skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport Strong leadership skills, ability to build consensus in project teams and across the wider organization. Product Management / Product Marketing / Technical Leadership experience in a medium to large enterprise (£100M - £500M P&L) in the Electrical, Power, Oil & Gas, Mining or Automotive segment Knowledge A solid understanding of Medium Voltage Power Distribution Technologies. T&D experience will be an advantage. Lean Six Sigma methodology. Extensive energy industry network including technology organizations, academic institutions, trade bodies, vendors and supply chain. Keeps up to date with competitor information and market trends; identifies business opportunities for the organisation; demonstrates financial awareness; controls costs and thinks in terms of profit, loss and added value. Experience Experience within a manufacturing / engineering to order environment Experience of developing & implement strategic transformation in a Product Management role. Proven ability to complete projects and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment.
