- Salary up to £68,000 DOE
- Rota flexibility

- £1,250 CPD allowance per year and in-house learning and development opportunities
Purovets are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join the team at an RCVS-accredited small animal practice in Cambridgeshire on a permanent basis. They would consider a consulting-only Vet if this was desired, but would equally like someone with all-round GP experience. An interest in dentistry would also be desirable. The practice has excellent facilities and a range of modern diagnostic equipment such as in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, doppler ultrasound, ECG, Dental machine and blood pressure monitoring.
They have been in the local area since 1989 and are a firmly established part of the village they are based in. Due to housing expansion and changes in local competitors, they have seen a huge increase in client registrations. Duties for the role would include examining and observing animals to diagnose health problems and assess their health, performing laboratory tests on samples and specimens, dressing and treating wounds, performing surgery and prescribing medication, testing for diseases and administering vaccinations, performing ultrasound and diagnostic imaging tests, advising animal owners on preventive healthcare, general care and nutrition and maintaining medical records of animals.
People are at the heart of everything that they do, which is why they know that work-life balance is vital in supporting their people to be their best selves. They are looking to fill 40 hours, but this could be a mixture of part-time or full-time hours as they understand the pressures of family life and personal time. There is no out of hours requirement as this is covered by a local practice.
You will be stepping into a highly experienced, close-knit team of five vets, which includes three certificate holders. The team also has five qualified Veterinary Nurses and a team of caring and professional support team of management, pharmacists, and receptionists. As there is such a range of skills, experience, and interests within the team, they try to encourage people to follow what they enjoy and are passionate about as much as possible. They are a tightly bonded team that collaborates effectively, providing support and guidance to one another.
The practice is located in March, a very beautiful and friendly town in Cambridgeshire Fens. You will be only half an hour away from the regional hubs of Cambridge and Peterborough which have plenty of tourist attractions and shopping centres, and you will have access to easy transport links to major cities like London and Birmingham.
