BIM CO-ORDINATOR
Overview
The role involves BIM coordination and management, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience required. The candidate will manage BIM processes throughout the project lifecycle (from design to construction and handover) and ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations, such as the Building Safety Act 2022 and BS9991:2024.
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in BIM coordination and management.
* Proven track record of working on large-scale residential and commercial projects.
* Experience with managing BIM processes from design through to construction and handover.
* Familiarity with the Building Safety Act 2022, BS9991:2024, and government gateway processes.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Understanding
* Proficient in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Solibri.
* Strong understanding of BIM standards, including ISO 19650 series.
* Ability to develop, implement and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
* Skilled in clash detection and resolution.
* Knowledge of data management and quality control procedures.
Communication
* Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to provide training and support to project teams on BIM processes.
Role Requirements
* Act as the BIM Coordinator for large and small scale projects.
* Manage BIM processes from RIBA Stage 1 to 6, ensuring compliance with EIRs and AIRs and COBie validation.
* Conduct monthly BIM workshops and maintain regular model updates.
* Ensure all BIM activities align with national standards, regulations and best practices.
* Support the project team in understanding and implementing safety related BIM data.
* Ability to lead and coordinate BIM processes and workflows.
* Experience in managing and maintaining federated models.
* Experience in embedding safety considerations into BIM models.
* Ability to ensure BIM models support safety management plans and documentation.
* Knowledge of BS 8644-1 fire safety information and OneClick LCA would be advantageous.
