Job Description This is an exciting and rare opportunity to take on the pivotal role of our Leadership Academy Team Leader within our innovative and forward-thinking Learning Department. Your role will be to manage and support the Leadership Academy Leadership Trainers in their everyday roles and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure skills compliance, identifying gaps or opportunities within training. You will be a part of a diversely skilled management team, who look after differing training portfolios including Investigative Training, Core Policing Skills, Learning Technology and ICT and Specialist Skills, Operational Training and Driver Training. In This Role Your Main Responsibilities Will Be To ensure the delivery of quality and timely training and assessment, through engagement in the commissioning process to develop new or revised training events. Supervise the trainers/assessors in their area of responsibility, managing their performance and continued professional development for their role. Work with our stakeholders to identify training opportunities through the respective channels. Ensure all resources for training in their area of responsibility, including trainers, classrooms & learners are appropriately coordinated. Plan and manage relevant Training events. Review and maintain evidence of assessment in line with requisite compliance and quality assurance guidelines. To promote the services provided by L&D and our learning partners. To assist your Line Manager in developing relationships with partners/stakeholders, including Universities and Colleges, providing training and assessment support to Apprenticeship Programmes on behalf of the organisation. To work with your line manager to ensure Apprenticeship recruitment targets are in line with Home Office requirements. To work flexibly across the force area to provide supervision, training and assessor support as required. Skills And Experience Required The applicant must hold a College of Policing Training Essentials Programme (TEP) or a Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training. Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills including people development & team building Experienced in organising & planning training events. Supervisory experience is essential, together with excellent communication and presentation skills. An understanding of apprenticeship programmes and assessment requirements would be desirable. To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
