Our client is currently seeking two experienced Principal Planners to join their dedicated team on a contract basis, offering hybrid working arrangements, including two days in the office or on-site. This is a temporary position for six months, with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and management of minerals and waste planning projects
2. Provide expert advice on planning applications and policy matters
3. Coordinate and manage consultation processes for planning proposals
4. Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for stakeholders
5. Ensure compliance with relevant planning legislation and regulations
6. Engage with various stakeholders, including local authorities and community groups
7. Support the delivery of sustainable development objectives
8. Mentor and guide junior planning staff as required
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in minerals and waste planning
2. Strong proficiency in development management processes
3. Ability to interpret and apply planning legislation and policies
4. Excellent organisational and project management skills
5. High-level written and verbal communication abilities
6. Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
8. Relevant planning degree or equivalent qualification
