Are you a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong background in accounting and finance? Do you have experience in managing the financial aspects of supply chain operations?
If the answer is yes, then look no further! Church & Dwight UK Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Supply Chain Accountant to join our dynamic team based in Folkestone with Hybrid working.
As a Supply Chain Accountant, you will be responsible for optimising the financial processes within our supply chain operations. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless financial integration, compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the strategic financial planning of our supply chain. This role requires someone who can provide accurate and timely financial information and support decision-making within the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements for supply chain activities, including cost accounting, inventory valuation, and expense tracking.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts for supply chain operations, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
3. Cost Management: Monitor and control supply chain costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency.
4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting, ensure accurate valuation and reporting, and collaborate with logistics to optimise inventory levels.
5. Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining robust internal controls within supply chain processes.
6. Data Analysis: Utilise financial data to support decision-making, providing detailed analysis and reporting on key supply chain metrics.
7. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency within the supply chain.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, logistics, production, and other departments to align financial objectives with supply chain strategies.
9. Audit Support: Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits related to supply chain activities.
10. Reporting and Controls: Assist with the monthly close process. Contribute to or cover Fixed Asset reporting on CEMS, liaising with Financial Reporting on Fixed Asset projects, and ensure timely accounting of assets. Assist with external audits as required.
11. Ad-hoc: Conduct ad-hoc analysis of financial data and complete material costings within SAP.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights. You will possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will also be adept at identifying issues, analysing problems, and developing effective solutions.
You will have proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced skills in Excel. Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support other team members is crucial.
In addition, you will have the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Degree standard or equivalent required. CCAB qualified or working towards.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably within FMCG, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain sectors.
3. Understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, production, logistics, and inventory management. Familiarity with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements related to supply chain operations. Experience with accounting software (e.g., MS products, specifically Excel to a competent standard and comfortable handling large data sets), SAP, and PowerBi.
Working hours are 37 per week: Monday – Thursday 9-5pm and Friday 9-4.30pm. Flexibility outside of these hours may be required to meet the needs of the role.
