About the role….
This is an exciting opportunity to join Gateshead Council's Strategic Housing Service providing vital support and assistance to Directors and Senior Officers across the Housing, Environment and Healthy Communities Group. We are seeking to appoint to one full time role.
You will have responsibility for coordinating partnership and governance meetings and providing administrative support across the service. This will include attending meetings in a support capacity and accurately taking and recording minutes, managing diaries, responding to enquiries and handling invoices. The role will also involve providing assistance to programmes and projects.

You must have knowledge and experience of …
1. Providing administrative based support
2. Effectively responding to enquiries from customers or other services
3. Organising and servicing meetings, including preparing papers and taking minutes
4. Managing diaries, appointments and conflicting priorities
5. Handling orders, arranging payments and updating relevant systems
6. Demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills
7. Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
8. Working with speed, accuracy and attention to detail
9. Effectively dealing with sensitive or confidential information
10. Developing templates or spreadsheets to gather and present information
11. Ability to input, retrieve and collate information from systems
12. Working independently and using own initiative
13. Using Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel) and internet-based search engines
14. Understanding of administrative systems, processes and documentation
You must have the following qualifications.
1. A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English (or equivalent)
2. Level 2 Business Administration Principles Certificate or equivalent or relevant demonstrable experience
