Hours: 15 hours per week - Mon-Fri 8.30am-3pm (to be arranged)
Area: West Monkseaton, North Tyneside
Rate: £11.44 per hour
Job Overview: Mark is a lovely older gentleman looking to employ a personal assistant who will have a flexible approach to supporting him within the home and accessing the community. Mark has a diagnosis of Autism, Epilepsy, and Diabetes. His epilepsy causes minor seizures, and his diabetes is managed with medication and regular blood count checks. Mark lives independently at home with the support of his sister who plays a huge part in his daily support. He can become tired quickly and lose concentration, so you will be required to prompt him if this happens.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist Mark with personal care, including showering and shaving.
2. Help him choose appropriate clothing and dressing.
3. Accompany him to the local pub for meals and scheduled appointments.
4. Support him during weekly shopping trips and assist in carrying out his shopping.
5. Administer daily medical doses, including weekly injections upon completion of training.
6. Prepare meals and ensure there is a supply of food left when you end your shift.
7. Perform light domestic tasks, including laundry and changing beds.
Requirements:
1. Experience with autism and managing epileptic episodes.
2. Car driver is essential, and mileage will be covered.
