Job Description
We are partnering with a leading freight forwarder who are seeking a Logistics Officer to join their team in Hull.
This role will oversee all import and export tasks while maintaining client relationships, handling queries and resolving complaints.
Responsibilities
* Respond to customer inquiries and manage interactions effectively.
* Cultivate and sustain strong relationships to drive business growth.
* Monitor and follow up on customer satisfaction levels.
* Actively promote services during client engagements.
* Lead by example, embodying company values and mentoring others.
* Oversee and coordinate daily operational tasks.
* Manage feedback and implement process improvements.
* Handle import/export documentation and ensure compliance.
* Collaborate with international partners to resolve shipping and documentation issues.
* Negotiate costs with freight providers and subcontractors.
* Prepare competitive proposals and tender responses.
* Provide accurate and timely quotes for import and export services.
* Manage and reconcile financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
* Conduct monthly reporting and implement actions based on findings.
* Efficiently process and approve customer invoices.
* Keep accurate records and databases related to shipping activities.
* Assist with various administrative and data management tasks.
* Ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations, both administratively and operationally.
Skills Required
* Over 3 years’ experience working in an operational role within the Freight Forwarding industry
* Confident user of MS Office such as Work, Excel and Outlook
* Knowledge of EU Customs best practices for import and export a distinct advantage
* Confident on the phone and able to work well within a team
