OVERALL SUMMARY An exciting and important role within the Financial Control & Operations function of Close Asset Management Finance team has become available. The role offers the opportunity to develop and enhance existing skills, while assisting the team in its support of a business aiming to achieve significant growth in the UK wealth management market. The primary focus of this role is to provide management and oversight for the Revenue team and it’s output, alongside providing wider technical accounting expertise across the organisation. RESPONSIBILITIES Revenue team Line Management for a Revenue team of 3, including development support and coaching Month end revenue recognition with associated balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis Supporting the Wealth Planning and Bespoke business with revenue queries Regulatory reporting in relation to revenue (e.g. RMA-K) Maintaining a robust knowledge of the accounting framework to ensure our revenue recognition remains accurate and appropriately documented Acting as point of contact for revenue areas of the external audit Working with the Revenue team and wider Finance team to continuously improve processes and establish efficiencies in the day to day processes within the team Technical Accounting Supporting wider Finance team and business for matters of financial compliance with process, policy and accounting standards Preparation of accounting policy papers under IFRS standards to guide business decisions and legal requirements, explaining complex issues clearly and concisely Continuously improve the organisation’s accounting policies manual Liaise with external auditors to align on key accounting judgements and policy adoptions Support the preparation and review of the organisation’s annual accounts, making suggestions for disclosure inclusions and improvements Regulatory responsibilities ¦ Compliance/T&C Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients. Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business. Follow principles and rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local and Group Compliance and Risk policies.
