In-House Legal Headhunter | Connecting Top Legal Talent with Leading Retail, Commerce and Travel & Leisure Companies
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercial lawyer to join a dynamic and fast-paced legal team within an evolving environment. This role will provide exposure to a variety of stakeholders and commercial projects, offering the chance to work on high-profile legal matters across multiple business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide timely and effective legal advice to the business and assist in handling complex legal matters.
2. Support executive management and the Board with legal guidance.
3. Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts.
4. Offer corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal support to departments including Estates, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Commercial, Construction, and Technical Services.
5. Deliver legal training and inductions to internal teams.
6. Maintain and update corporate policies owned by the legal team.
7. Assist with compliance programmes and regulatory obligations.
8. Support insurance risk management activities.
9. Act as a trusted legal expert, working collaboratively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
10. Provide legal support on corporate transactions and construction/development projects as needed.
11. Instruct and manage external counsel and specialist advisers.
12. Oversee legal disputes and risk mitigation strategies.
13. Support the implementation of compliance processes and systems across the business.
Skills & Experience:
Required:
1. Qualified commercial solicitor with strong academics and 4-8 years’ PQE from a top-tier law firm or an established in-house legal team.
2. Strong technical expertise, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
3. Solid experience in drafting a variety of commercial contracts, including complex agreements.
4. A good understanding of data protection law, including GDPR.
5. Interest in compliance and regulatory matters.
6. Proactive and able to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team.
7. Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal solutions.
8. Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
9. High levels of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
