Head of Analytical Laboratory
Staffordshire (commutable from Stoke, Stafford, Crewe and surrounding areas)
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)

SRG is working with a leading researcher and manufacturer who develops and manufactures high-performance speciality chemicals. Based in the Staffordshire area, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their analytical team. This new role has arisen from an increased workload at the company. The job would suit someone with a background in quality control (QC) using ICP. You will join a company that is quickly growing and adding new state-of-the-art equipment to their lab.

Role Description
1. Using and maintaining analytical equipment such as ICP, BET surface area, NIR, and particle size analysis.
2. Reviewing and signing off on finished chemical products.
3. Keeping a record of results on LIMS.
4. Demonstrating analytical techniques to more junior members of the team.
5. General laboratory housekeeping and working with technical reports and safety data sheets.
Requirements
1. Experience in a quality control laboratory working with techniques and equipment such as ICP, BET surface area, NIR, and particle size analysis. A strong academic background in this field will also be considered.
2. Degree in chemistry or similar relevant discipline.
3. Ability to travel or relocate to the Staffordshire area.
4. An understanding of QC and ISO procedures within the chemicals industry.
5. Full right to work in the UK.
