Medical Secretary/MDT Co-ordinator (XN04)
The post holder will provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service/MDT cover to the Consultant and the medical team. They will support and administer processes to sustain the Consultant's practice through administrative protocols, processes, and procedures in line with service needs.
Full training for the role will be provided. The successful applicant should possess good organisational & communication skills and be computer literate. Your ability to communicate will be assessed throughout your online application & interview. Applicants should have previous secretarial experience; NHS experience is desirable but not essential, & be educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent).
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a team player who can work to a high professional standard to join the Neurosurgery Secretarial team. The MDT Co-ordinator will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support and cover the Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) and ensure the effective management of accurate and timely data to enable clinical decision-making at MDT meetings when required. The post-holder will coordinate all aspects of the patient pathway in their specialty and be responsible for prioritising work, reviewing work practices, setting up, managing and ensuring effective running of MDT meetings.

This post is based at the Leeds General Infirmary in a busy but friendly department, and you will be expected to prioritise your workload and undertake multiple tasks whilst supporting the other band 4 Medical Secretaries. The ability to work using your own initiative but also as part of a team is essential.

Experience
* Experience of secretarial and administrative processes and practices; MS Office application experience
* Experience working within a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask
