You will be providing personalized care and support to a young individual with complex needs, including non-verbal communication and wheelchair use. Main duties of the job
The Cerebral Palsy Support Worker will be responsible for delivering personalized care routines, including assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation. They will also be required to administer medication, monitor health conditions, and provide emotional support and companionship. The role requires previous experience in a similar complex care setting, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a compassionate and empathetic nature, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job responsibilities
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Our client is a young individual who is non-verbal as well as being a wheelchair user and using ceiling hoists. She will require 2:1 care for the rest of her life aiding with the administration of medication through PEG as well as taking fluids in PEG. She will be going for surgery within the next few weeks and will need aid with post-surgical care.
Hours: As you will be working in a team, there will be a mix of shifts available from short days and evenings to 12-hour waking nights across the week. Where possible, we will aim to set a rolling rota where you will know a month in advance what your shifts will be.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering personalised care routines
* PEG experience is a must.
* Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
* Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
* Providing emotional support and companionship.
* Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work the specified hours.
