Strategic Client Lead - Direct Sales
Here's what you'll be doing npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving c20,000 customers and approximately 200,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Client Lead – Direct Sales to join our team. For this role, you will be responsible for leading nBS’ commercial relationship at board level, this will involve maximising existing relationships in terms of value, energy management solutions, contractual terms and fostering new relationships to win new business that profitably grows the strategic customer base across electricity supply, gas supply, risk management, generation services and energy management. This role is homebased, with nationwide travel required (car allowance provided where required).
Key responsibilities
Lead on the Corporate & Strategic internal commercial evaluation and approval processes, including regular board engagement and presentations to deliver strong internal networks that provide an effective and seamless interface.
Target, prospect, influence, negotiate and deliver new business and/or renewal/growth opportunities within the competitive market environment delivering bespoke contract/product structures across a portfolio of sophisticated clients.
Utilise extensive knowledge of the energy market and client requirements to feed into I&C’s product development process to develop marketable and value adding products.
Engage a targeted group of market counterparties within the sector, through events, speaking engagements and networking to build relationships with senior market participants and decision makers that will increase understanding of our market position and to identify opportunities.
Work with stakeholders to identify and manage high level critical strategic relationships across key clients to ensure that ongoing and future negotiations are supported.
Utilise industry knowledge and expertise to develop a wide range of high-level external networks that will build and enhance reputation, highlight capabilities and ultimately generate opportunities that will add value to the bottom line.
Manage the resolution of complex issues and disputes arising as result of the implementation of contractual terms, customer breach of terms, changing circumstances e.g. credit status and volume tolerance issues
Oversee the strategic account planning process within assigned sector to deliver business plan targets across I&C’s product suite.
Develop a Solutions Sales approach to support clients with energy efficiencies and savings whilst broadening I&C’s the value base. What we need from you
A full understanding of the energy industry with the ability to target commercial and industrial sectors to identify and execute commercially focussed and complex contractual arrangements.
Demonstrable experience in developing and communicating strategies for maximising market opportunities recognising the diverse and rapidly changing nature of the marketplace.
Proven ability to make sound outcomes in opposing environments that have a significant financial impact on performance of a business.
A high degree of complex risk management knowledge and commercial judgement.
The ability to assimilate complex problems and issues from the world of customers/prospects and manage creative solution developments to drive long term mutual commercial benefits.
